Grand Valley Power, the electric cooperative serving the Grand Junction area of the Western Slope, continues its partnership with the Governor’s Energy Office to supply rebates to Grand Valley Power customers.
In 2008, GVP and GEO partnered to supply rebates for grid-tied photovoltaic installations. Last year, GEO extended the rebate program to include appliances, home energy audits, additional insulation and many more energy efficient and renewable projects.
Grand Valley Power’s partnership will guarantee that a portion of the funds statewide will be awarded to customers of GVP. Once the partner funds are depleted, applicants will be awarded rebates that will be competitive statewide.
All rebates will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis and will be available as long as there are funds. Applications and awards for any and all rebates will be handled by GEO through its website at www.rechargecolorado.com.
As the 2011 program began, matching rebates were available for GVP customers who had contractors perform a home energy audit or install additional insulation. Matching rebates for photovoltaic grid-tied generation systems became available beginning March 1.
For more information or a complete list of the rebate programs, rules, and how to apply, members were directed to visit www.rechargecolorado.com. Members could also access this website through a link on Grand Valley Power’s website www.gvp.org.
GVP continues to analyze rebate programs according to the ability of the program to meet customer expectations. The continued partnership with GEO in 2011 will allow GVP to continue with traditional business practices by providing a rebate program that will not burden customers through additional surcharges.
Grand Valley Power ’s partnership with GEO demonstrates its commitment to conducting cooperative affairs with the highest degree of integrity; serving the needs of consumers fairly and impartially; and promulgating area development in the public interest and in harmony with the natural environment.
