San Miguel Power, headquartered in Nucla, has announced changes to its energy efficiency rebate program. Members who replace an inefficient old appliance, such as a water heater, refrigerator, freezer, washing machine or dishwasher, with a new Energy Star–rated appliance, may apply to SMPA for a rebate.
Rebates can be as much as $275.
SMPA, in partnership with its power supplier, Tri-State Generation and Transmission, says its goal is to get as many inefficient appliances as possible off the grid.
Members may apply for a rebate by contacting SMPA at 970-626-5549 or 970-864-7311 and requesting an Energy Efficiency Credit Application. More information is available at http://www.smpa.com/EE/rebates.cfm.
