Most of us realize that we can lower our water heating costs by using less hot water in our homes. But how do we do that?
Southeast Colorado Power Association, which is headquartered in La Junta and serves the rural areas of southeastern Colorado, recently published a full page of ideas in its monthly newsletter to help its members cut their hot water use. These came from Chief Operating Officer Jack Wolfe, who provides energy efficiency tips to members through the newsletter each month.
In explaining how to cut hot water costs, Jack suggested that members fix leaks, install low-flow fixtures and purchase more energy-efficient dishwashers and clothes washers. And he shared information to help members implement each of these suggestions.

SECPA, like Colorado’s other electric co-ops, provides its members with energy efficiency information, ideas and tips with each month’s newsletter.
